The price of pepper today, September 15, experienced a slight increase in Indonesia. Meanwhile, the domestic pepper market saw a slight decline of 500 VND/kg, settling in the range of 70,500 to 73,000 VND/kg.
World Pepper Prices on September 15
Internationally, the pepper market witnessed a slight increase in Indonesia while maintaining stability in other countries.
In Indonesia, the price of black Lampung pepper saw a modest increase of 0.07%, reaching 4,316 USD/ton. The price of white Muntok pepper in this country also increased by 0.06% to 6,387 USD/ton.
Malaysia's Kuching ASTA black pepper maintained its stability at 4,900 USD/ton, while the white ASTA pepper from the same country remained at 7,300 USD/ton.
In the Brazilian market, the price of ASTA 570 black pepper remained steady at 3,450 USD/ton.
In Vietnam, the price of black pepper for export of grades 500 and 550 g/l stood at 3,500 and 3,600 USD/ton, respectively. The price of white pepper for export remained at 5,100 USD/ton.
The global pepper market in July 2023 showed mixed reactions. The price index for black pepper decreased slightly by 0.7% to reach 49.25 points. Meanwhile, the white pepper price index increased by 3.3% to reach 53.85 points, just under 1% lower compared to the same period in 2022.
The composite price for black pepper decreased by 25 USD/ton, reaching 3,664 USD/ton, while the white pepper composite price significantly increased by 180 USD, reaching 5,572 USD/ton.
Worldwide pepper exports increased slightly in countries like Brazil and Malaysia, but Vietnam experienced a sharp decline of over 28%.
In summary, on September 15, 2023, pepper prices showed a slight increase in Indonesia compared to the previous day.
Domestic Pepper Prices on September 15
In the domestic market, pepper prices saw a slight decline of 500 VND/kg compared to the previous day.
Specifically, in Dak Lak and Dak Nong, prices remained at 71,500 VND/kg.
In Gia Lai, the trading price for pepper stood at 70,500 VND/kg.
In Dong Nai, traders were buying pepper at 71,000 VND/kg, a decrease of 500 VND.
The latest pepper prices in Ba Ria - Vung Tau decreased slightly to 73,000 VND/kg, while in Binh Phuoc, prices dropped by 500 VND to 72,500 VND/kg.
Domestic pepper prices experienced a slight downturn of 500 VND/kg in the Southeastern region but remained stable in the Central Highlands. Currently, the highest pepper price in the country is at 73,000 VND/kg.
In conclusion, domestic pepper prices on September 15, 2023, are trading around the range of 70,500 to 73,500 VND/kg.
