After the Lunar New Year, highland farmers went back to normal life. They start harvesting black pepper in their farms. Hence, the peak season of black pepper in Vietnam used to be at the end of February and early March every year. At the time, the price of this spice should be the best price in a year.

Back to December 2021, some experts visited pepper plantations in DakLak, Dongnai, Binhphuoc, Baria Vungtau. They analyzed, calculated the production of and reported that 30-40% production was reduced in the main plants!

After 3 years growing black pepper without profit and losing money, farmers are tired. Many farmers remove pepper trees and grow avocado, durian. Thus, cultivated areas were narrowed. Pepper market adjusts according to supply and demand. The price of black pepper increases when supply reduces.
