(07/2/2019) Vietnam's cashew nut export in January reached 35,000 tons, worth $ 286 million.
The Export and Import Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) said that Vietnam's cashew nut export in January reached 35,000 tons, worth US $ 286 million, up 3% in volume and 4% in value compared to 12/2018; 13.2% increase in volume, but down 9.8% in value compared with January 2018.
The average export price of cashew nuts in Vietnam in January was at 8,171 USD per ton, an increase of 1% compared to 12/2018, but down by 20.3% compared to January 2018.
On the world market, in January 2019, cashew price fluctuated in a narrow range due to the harvest in many countries such as Brazil, Indonesia, Benin, Mozambique, Kenya, while demand did not increase.
In Vietnam, the demand for raw cashew nuts decreases due to the Lunar New Year holiday in 2019, many kilns separate raw cashew nut shells from production, the price of cashew nuts in Vietnam is currently at 350,000 VND per kilogram, while seeds Roasted salted cashew is priced at 360,000 VND per kg.
