Domestic Pepper Prices on August 29: Remain unchanged
August 29, 2023
In the domestic market, the pepper market remains unchanged compared to the previous day.
Specifically, in Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces, the purchasing price is at 70,000 VND/kg.
In Gia Lai province, the pepper price is stable, trading at the level of 68,500 VND/kg. In Dong Nai province, there are no new fluctuations, and the price is maintained at 69,500 VND/kg. The latest pepper price in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province is steady at 72,000 VND/kg.
Meanwhile, Binh Phuoc province is trading at 71,000 VND/kg, unchanged from the previous day. The domestic pepper prices continue to move sideways, with the highest level at 72,000 VND/kg.
In the most recent weekly report, Phuc Thinh Import-Export Investment Corporation predicts that Vietnam's pepper exports for the first 8 months of the year will reach around 183-185,000 tons.
If the annual pepper production forecast for 2023 is between 190-200,000 tons, then it's likely that the stock from previous years will be used for export until the next harvest in 2024, which is about 5-6 months away.
This projection suggests that there will be less trading of raw pepper materials in the market in the fourth quarter, as the stock from previous years is still available due to the strong financial foundation held by farmers, traders, and exporting companies, coupled with relatively high prices.
In conclusion, the domestic pepper prices on August 29, 2023 are within the range of 68,500 - 72,000 VND/kg.
