(18/2/2019) Although the export of cashew nuts in
1.2019 has increased slightly, but the price of
domestic cashew has not ended the gloomy.

According to the Export and Import Department (under the Ministry of Industry and Trade), Vietnam's cashew export in January reached
35,000 tons; worth 286 million USD; 3% increase in volume and 4% increase in value compared to December 2008. The average export
price in January was at $ 8,171 / ton, an increase of 1% compared to December 2008.
At the beginning of 2019, the price of cash on the world market was not much changed because the big cashew producing countries such
as Brazil, Mozambique, Kenya ... are all in the harvest, while the demand for consumption has
not increased.
In the country, some raw cashew prices continue to fall. In Loc Ninh district (Binh Phuoc province), Mr. Nguyen Nhat Anh said that since
early January, he started harvesting cashew. At the beginning of the season, traders buy fresh cashew about 33,000 - 34,000 VND / kg but
currently only 27,000 - 28,000 VND / kg.

Mr. Nhat Anh said that since the price of fresh raw cashew was low this year, any garden that has conditions will keep it, dry it and wait for
it to sell.
Similarly, in Gia Lai province, the Tet holiday this year falls into the peak of ripening cashew orchards, however, the price of fresh seeds
decreases sharply, causing many farmers to worry.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu (La Grai district) said, in 2018, cashew prices ranged from 38,000 to 50,000 VND / kg. However, this year the price
has dropped below 30,000 VND / kg.
According to the General Department of Customs, by the end of 2018, exports were not positive while the volume increased but the turnover
declined. The decline in export price has made the domestic cashew market quiet. The decline in cashew price makes plants no longer
motivated to buy raw materials for production.

Before the Lunar New Year holiday, many kilns separated raw cashew shells from production, the demand for raw materials was no longer high,
making the domestic cashew price difficult to fluctuate until after Tet. It is predicted that cashew price will continue to be quiet until the end of
the first quarter of 2019.
