Cashew nut exports in the first six months of 2021 grew in both volume and value

 

In the first six months of 2021, the country's cashew nut exports reached nearly 273,537 tons (up 21.8% compared to the first six months of 2020), earning nearly 1.65 billion USD (up 10.8%)

According to preliminary statistics of the General Department of Customs, in June 2021 the whole country exported 58,746 tons of cashew nuts, equivalent to 369.5 million USD, the average price was 6,289.8 USD/ton, up 11% in volume and up 13.9% in turnover compared to May 2021, 2.5% in price. Compared to June 2020, it also increased by 40.8%, 43.2%, and 1.7% respectively.

 

In the first six months of 2021, the country's cashew nut exports reached nearly 273,537 tons (up 21.8% compared to the first six months of 2020), earning nearly 1.65 billion USD (up 10.8%), the average price reached 6,021.2 USD/ton (down 9%).

 

The US still leads in terms of Vietnam's cashew nut consumption, reaching over 83,436 tons, equivalent to $462.92 million, the average price is $5,5482.2/ton, up 6% in volume, but down 11.6% in value quota and down 16.6% in price compared to the first six months of 2020; accounting for 30.5% of the total volume and 28.1% of the total cashew nut export turnover of the country.

 

Cashew nut exports to China - the second-largest market in the first six months of 2021, increased strongly by 63% in volume, 85.3% in turnover, and 13.6% in price over the same period last year 2020, reaching 39,235 tons, equivalent to USD 292.11 million, the average price of USD 7,445.1/ton; accounting for 14.3% of the total volume and 17.7% of the total turnover.

 

The Dutch market ranked third with 33,550 tons, equivalent to 168.5 million USD, priced at 5,022 USD/ton, up 18% in volume, but down 12.7% in turnover and 25.4% in price compared to the same period last year period, accounting for nearly 12.3% of the total volume and 10.2% of the total cashew export turnover of the country.

 

Another notable market in Canada in the first six months of 2021, which also had a quick increase of 41.2% in volume, an increase of 27.6% in turnover over the same period in 2020, reaching 8,294 tons, equivalent to 54.8 million USD; accounted for 3% of the total volume and total turnover.
