BLACK PEPPER MARKET PRICE TODAY IN VIETNAM (19 JULY 2023)

The price of black pepper today, July 19th, is ranging from 67,000 to 70,500 VND/kg. The domestic market has shown positive changes after a long period of stagnation. In the global market, Indonesian black pepper prices continue to increase.
Today, July 19th, the price of black pepper in Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces is being bought at 68,000 VND/kg. In Gia Lai province, the price is 67,000 VND/kg.
In Dong Nai province, the price of black pepper is at 68,000 VND/kg, increasing by 500 VND/kg compared to the previous day.
In Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, the price is at 70,500 VND/kg, also increasing by 500 VND/kg.
Meanwhile, in Binh Phuoc province, black pepper is being bought at 69,500 VND/kg, also increasing by 500 VND/kg.
The prices of black pepper in the Southeast region have increased by 500 VND/kg, while prices in other provinces have remained stable compared to the previous day.
At the end of the trading session yesterday, the International Pepper Community (IPC) listed the price of Lampung black pepper (Indonesia) at 3,736 USD/ton, up 0.11%; the price of Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 at 3,050 USD/ton; and the price of Kuching black pepper (Malaysia) ASTA remained at 4,900 USD/ton.
The weak USD continues to support the export price of pepper for countries in the Southeast Asia region, despite the ongoing harvest in Indonesia. However, the overall trading in the market remains relatively low.
According to the preliminary statistics from the Vietnam Pepper Association, in the first 15 days of July 2023, Vietnam exported 7,039 tons of pepper, of which 5,980 tons were black pepper and 1,059 tons was white pepper. The total export revenue reached 25.9 million USD.
Olam, Nedspice, and Tran Chau are the main exporting companies, with export quantities of 787 tons, 701 tons, and 468 tons, respectively. In the first half of July, pepper exports to China reached 788 tons.
Previously, in the first half of June 2023, the total pepper export was 10,454 tons, with a value of 38.33 million USD. It can be seen that the pepper export in the first half of July 2023 decreased significantly, and the exports to China accounted for just over 10%.
On the other hand, in the first 15 days of July 2023, Vietnam imported 1,550 tons of pepper, of which 1,523 tons were black pepper and 27 tons were white pepper, with a total import value of 5.1 million USD.
Olam and Tran Chau are the two largest importing companies, with imports of 776 tons and 355 tons, respectively. Meanwhile, Brazil is the main supplier of pepper to Vietnam, accounting for 66.1% of the market share.
