152,000 hectares,
while the plan to 2020 vision to 2030, the pepper area of ​​the whole country is only 50,000
hectares, the area for products is 47,000 ha

 

For example, according to the planning till 2020, Gia Lai pepper area is 6,000 ha. However, data from the "Gia Lai Statistical Yearbook" 
shows that by the end of 2017, this figure has reached 17,750 hectares, exceeding the plan nearly 3 times.
The continuous increase in the area of ​​pepper makes the price of pepper fall out of control, along with the current outbreak and crisis.
It is expected that in 2018, the national pepper output will reach 230,000 tons, up from the estimate of 210,000 tons in 2017 
(reaching 175,000 in 2016).
According to Vietnam Pepper Association (VPA): Within the world, within 5 - 7 years, the area of ​​pepper increased 3 times
 (reaching 480,000 ha) but the value decreased 4 times. The price of dry pepper has been
 reduced from VND 250,000 / kg to VND 58,000 / kg.
In the domestic market, in the trading session on December 15: Average pepper price in major pepper growing provinces in Vietnam
 (Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Gia Lai, Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai, Ba Ria Vung Tau) reached VND 52,800 / kg. The lowest price was recorded in
Gia Lai and Dong Nai provinces with VND 52,000 / kg; The highest pepper price in Ba Ria Vung Tau province reached VND 54,000 / kg.
 In Dak Lak, Dak Nong and Binh Phuoc provinces, pepper prices reached VND 53,000 / kg.
In terms of export, the report of the Department of Agricultural Product Processing and Development (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural 
Development) shows that: The volume of export pepper in 11 months of 2018 is estimated at 220,000 tons and 718 million USD, up by 8.9%.
 volume but decreased 32.5% in value compared to the same period in 2017.
In markets, due to the continuous decrease in pepper export price, pepper export value to most markets in 10 months of 2018 decreased compared
 to the same period in 2017. Especially, the price dropped the most in the market. United Arab Emirates (reduced to 34 million USD, equivalent to
57.7% reduction).
