Global sales for cinnamon exports by country totaled US$692.4 million in 2019. The overall value of cinnamon exports rose by an average 43.5% for all exporting countries since 2015 when worldwide cinnamon shipments were valued at 482.5 million.
Year over year, exported cinnamon depreciated -4.9% from 2018 to 2019.
From a continental perspective, 87.7% of total cinnamon exports were shipped from suppliers in Asia. Smaller percentages came from exporters in Europe (9.3%), North America (1.9%), Africa (1%), Latin America (0.2%) excluding Mexico but including the Caribbean, and Oceania (0.04%) mostly Australia.
For research purposes, the 4-digit Harmonized Tariff System code prefix is 0906 for cinnamon and cinnamon-tree flowers.
