OCTOBER 26, 2020
Today's pepper prices on October 26, 2020 in the Central Highlands and the South were between 51,500 and 54,500 VND / kg, the highest was still in Ba Ria - Vung Tau. Last week was a period of strong growth in domestic pepper prices.
In Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces, pepper prices today are purchased at VND 52,500 / kg. In Gia Lai province, today's pepper price was 51,500 VND / kg.
Meanwhile in Dong Nai, pepper prices today were the same at 51,500 VND / kg. In Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, today pepper prices were purchased at 54,500 VND / kg. In Binh Phuoc province, today pepper prices were purchased at 53,500 VND / kg.
Thus, pepper prices in key growing areas last week all increased. In Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces, pepper prices increased from 49,500 VND / kg to 52,500 VND / kg. 3,000 VND / kg is also the average increase in other localities. Since the end of May 2020, the highest pepper price in Ba Ria - Vung Tau was recorded at 60,000 VND / kg, and in other localities it fluctuated 57,000-59,000 VND / kg. Since then, pepper prices have continuously kept below 50,000 VND / kg.
At present, year-end consumer demand has pushed the market to increase buying. Meanwhile, inventories in major consumer markets are also not much left due to limited trade due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The above reasons help the market to hope that pepper prices can re-peak at 60,000 VND / kg. On the world market, at the end of last week's trading session, spot prices of pepper at Kochi - India closed at 34,422.2 rupees / quintal, down 66.7 rupees / quintal (0.19%). delivery in October 2020 remained unchanged at 34,400 rupees / quintal.
